Here are some samples of my work I have done for previous clients. The photos below are from a Victorian wash house converted to host guests in a self contained space with loft bed, cooking and living area and shower room with WC. With the plasterboarding previously completed by a joiner, I taped and seamed and prepared the walls and ceiling, including skylight apertures, ready for decorating. The shower enclosure was tanked with a waterproofing kit prior to tiling it. The matching sand-coloured grout with chromed edging strip finished the look ...
Above the shower room doorway, a sizeable gap between the original rafter and wall surface was addressed by inserting a timber, tied in to match the original, and stained and sanded ...
With electric cables already installed by an electrician, the same client required new wall lights to be fitted and wired in ...
Another client needed a TV wall mount fitted to a new plasterboard wall, with the wiring and aerial cabling previously completed ...
The same client needed a wall-mounted towel rack installed in a bathroom ...
An IKEA Eket floating drawer unit was assembled and repurposed as a bedside unit for clients who had an ottaman bed. This allowed them to have a bedside unit whilst still being able to pull open drawers from the bed and access the double socket ...
This outside job aimed to improve an existing border where the client was fed up of digging and weeding. The solution was to widen the border slightly to accommodate new raised beds. I built and installed these. The ground was weeded and levelled, before plain brown cardboard was laid and covered with a generous wood chip mulch. An edging was made with treated timber to complete the look ...
This job involved the re-siting and re-erecting of an old garden shed that was in a sorry state. A base was installed, some rotten timbers replaced, the whole coated with creosote and the roof re-felted ...

About
Hi, I'm Sean and I live in Newport on Tay, just over the river from Dundee, with my wife and two kids and black lab Ziggy. I have spent most of my professional career working as a software test engineer across various organisations. However, I've always enjoyed doing up houses and gardens and have picked up a plethora of DIY skills over the years. An unexpected redundancy in the summer of 2026 presented me with a chance to start my own odd job business doing what I love - DIY. I hope I can help you too!
